Resources available for all types of Scouting activities

 

Located on the South side of Ethel Lake in the heart of Alberta's Northern Lakeland area is an amazing resource to bring youth of all ages and skill types for some 4 season Scouting adventures. Multiple resource buildings and a vast camping area allow for your group to have a fun day outing in a beautiful area, or enjoy a weekend doing some trekking on snowshoes all within the camp. With direct access to Ethel Lake you can spend the day canoeing or ice fishing.

Cold Lake

Cold Lake offers opportunities for adventure throughout the year including hanging out or sailing from Kinosoo Beach, hiking at Cold Lake Provincial Park, biking the Millennium Trail, visiting the Jet display at 4 Wing or the Cold Lake Museums. For more on activities in Cold Lake Click Here.

Fishing

Cold Lake is home to the legend of Kinosoo, land of the big fish. The multitude of lakes in the area provide plenty of opportunity to catch fish.  Before heading out, make sure to check the Alberta Guide to Sportfishing Regulations, Camp Vanier is located in the NB1 zone.

Paddling

Camp Vanier has canoes available to use on Ethel Lake.  Opportunities for canoeing, kayaking and stand up paddleboarding can be found throughout the lakeland. French Bay on Cold Lake provides an excellent sheltered area to paddle, and there is almost always the guarantee of seeing plenty of wildlife.
